YANG FAMILY TAI CHI STUDIES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
– July 2002. Competed in the 2ndInternational Invitational Tournament while attending the 20thAnniversary Celebration of the Shanxi Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Association, July 20th-23rd, 2002, Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, P.R. China. Studied with Grandmaster Yang Zhenduo and Master Yang Jun while touring Shanghai, Wuxi, Hangzhou, and Beijing, P.R. China.
– July 2005. Attended 80th birthday celebration of Grandmaster Yang Zhenduo in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, P.R. China. Studied with Grandmaster Yang Zhenduo and Master Yang Jun in Wutaishan, Shanxi Province, P.R. China.
– July 2007. Competed in the 3rd International Invitational Tournament in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, P.R. China earning three silver medals (Demonstration Hand Form, Traditional Sword Form, Saber Form). Studied with Grandmaster Yang Zhenduo and Master Yang Jun while in Taiyuan, and Beijing, P.R. China.
– July 2009. Deputy Director of the vendor area (Silk Road Bazaar) at the International Tai Chi Chuan Symposium on Health, Education and Culture Exchange, Vanderbilt University, Nashville TN. Attended workshops and/or practice sessions with Grandmaster Chen Zhenglei, Grandmaster Yang Zhenduo, Grandmaster Wu Wenhan, Grandmaster Ma Hailong, and Grandmaster Sun Yongtian. Attended several academic workshops on health benefits of tai chi chuan and attended the International Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan Association 10th Year Anniversary Celebration, July 6th. Participated in the opening performance (Center Director/Certified Instructor group demonstration) for the Grand Showcase and Masters Demonstration, July 9th
– July 2016 to present. Faculty (Instructor/Evaluator), United States Teacher Academy Training Division (Teacher Training Methods-1).
– May 25-29, 2019. Attended the 2019 International Tai Chi Chuan Symposium on Health, Education and Culture Exchange, in Selvino, Italy. Attended practice sessions with Grandmaster Chen Zhenglei, Grandmaster Yang Jun, Grandmaster Wu Kwongyu, Grandmaster Zhong Zhenshan, Grandmaster Sun Yongtian, and Grandmaster He Youlu. Attended several academic workshops on health benefits of tai chi chuan. Saturday, May 26, Scoring Judge for Arena 2 at the inaugural Yang Family Tai Chi Cup (tournament). Presiding Judge for Level 4 Push Hands ranking tests and corrected the ranking written exams (English).
– August 2020. Yang Family Tai Chi International Junzheng Online Cup, submitted videos: Men’s Division B (30-59) Hand Form (YFTC Essential Form) and Men’s Division B (30-59) Weapons (Saber Form). Awarded Third Place in each event.
– August 2020. Instructor, Virtual Classroom. “Stances and footwork in Yang Family Tai Chi – the foundation of our forms.”
