JoAnne Sellars is an instructor with the Tai Chi Academy of North Jersey. She has been studying Yang Style Tai Chi for more than 11 years and holds the rank of Golden Eagle from the International Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Assn. She took part in the Senior Women’s Straight Sword Demonstration and Competition of Shanxi, China in 2007. Her Yang studies have been with Holly Sweeney-Hillman, Master Yang Jun and Grand Master Yang Zhen Duo.
Before Tai Chi, JoAnne had extensive training in Dance. She received her MS in Dance Education from George Washington University where she became a member of the adjunct faculty. She was Commissioner for Dance on the Alexandria, VA Commission for the Arts and participated in the National Endowment for the Arts Artists in the Schools program as well as the Washington Careers in the Arts Program in Washington, DC.
Recently, JoAnne has taught classes for the New Jersey Foundation for the Blind, the Senior Care Center in Montclair, NJ and the Montclair Public Library through a grant given to the library.
